About me

I'm Christina, I go by Chaiiry as my artist name. I'm from Charlotte, NC and I'm a senior illustration and ceramics student at Maryland Institute College of Art. Just like many other artists, I've been an artist since I could hold a mark making object in my hands. There was never a time where I was not creating. I decided to pursue my dreams of being a professional artist in high school because the global pandemic happened and I thought since the world might end soon, why not pursue my passions. Similar to marriage, my relationship with art and the creative process is "till death do us part."

Ever since I started drawing, I was obsessed with figures. As a kid I drew on copy paper and there were stacks on stacks of paper with drawings of women in dresses wearing tall heels. I continue my love for figurative art and now I specialize in painting watercolor portraits.
